I've looked up caffeine extraction here and other places and oftentimes it involves harsh chemicals or laboratory equipment. Yet I see all sorts of things like water and doughnuts with artifically added caffeine.
I'm actually starting to get into winemaking and would really like to know if there's a way to extract caffeine from one source like coffee or tea, to then add it to other safe consumables.
Or barring that, is it legal to produce or buy straight caffeine crystals anywhere that are fit for consumption? There must be, it seems like the entire soft drink industry relies on it.

I just got one that says "98% caffeine free" and I'm wondering if that's lower than average?
What is a regular amount percentage-wise, say this tea is 2%
yeah if the cup was a teacup size, 250mls, like 8 fl. oz. ....

And how bad for you is 2 or 3 cans a day during the week? Considering whoever is doing this never drinks tea or coffee or anything else with caffeine in it?

I have several travel mugs that I often fill with coffee and take with me in the car. The problem is that the cups quickly absorbed the taste of the coffee. Now if I put any other beverage, like tea, in the mugs all I can taste is stale coffee. I do wash my dishes very well with soap and water, so that is not the problem. It is just that the coffee is so strong I guess? Anyway, Can anyone please tell me how to remove this stale coffee taste from my travel mug?

I do not drink coffee and don't want recipes for using espresso in any way, shape, or form. Surely there has to be some cool use for an espresso machine besides making espresso or hot water? I can make hot water for oatmeal or tea in the micro. If I'm going to keep this machine around, it needs to fulfill a purpose. Is there, perhaps, some practical use for its parts?
