What espresso machine is the best?

I want to buy an espresso machine that can make also cappuccino. I have never owned one before, but I did a little research and I heard that the pump ones are better then the steam because the espresso comes out better? Do you own one? I am looking for something not expensive and small in size. Thanks!

How to steam milk for latte art?

Hey I got a new espresso machine and I can't seem to steam the milk right. I put the steam wand just below the milk and I made the whirlpool action. The milk comes out looking perfect with a nice micro foam but whenever I pour it it never turns out right! I see these videos of the milk being even and the latte art comes out perfect but when I do it the milk just poars and micro foam sits on the top. Any suggestions?

P.S. The espresso shots are good and they are put in a preheated mug. They have a nice crema!

Can you eat steamed eggs when pregnant?

They steam eggs with an espresso machine. Are they safe to eat when pregnant?

Where can I find a good milk steamer?

I'm looking to purchase a milk steamer that is NOT stove top and has adjustable temperature capabilities. I would like it to be a steam wand type not a pitcher type container and not an espresso machine with a steam wand. I know its complicated but thats what I need.

Best economic espresso machine?

I am a coffee lover but the price of drinks are ridiculous. So me and my cousin decided were going to buy an espresso machine and start experimenting with some drink combinations. Since ive never owned one before im not really sure what i should look for in one. We're going for the more economic options since we cant dish out 0 right now. So ive found a couple decent options in my opinion (the cheapest ones). So which one would be the better value?

Will an espresso machine set off a fire alarm?

I'm talking more too do with the steam from the milk frother, as I will be using it in a dorm room I want to make sure and not evacuate the whole building

Any help would be appreciated :)
I know how to use one.

We have a new "Capresso" brand espresso/cappuccino maker that we got for Christmas. It has worked very well, and is still working well except that the pressurized chamber seems not to be sealing perfectly any more. After the water heats up to full pressure, and especially during the process of steaming the milk, bubbles are forming around the top seal (where I screwed the top back on after adding water). I suspect this is because the rubber gasket that fits up inside the boiler cap has gotten out of alignment (it's actually not rubber but a translucent rubbery plastic material). At some point in the last few days the gasket came out, and I wasn't sure how to reinstall it. There are two knobs or bumps on the gasket, that look as if they are meant to line up with 2 holes in the metal part of the boiler cap itself. Right now I have the gasket installed in the cap so that those knobs are "upside down" -- i.e. they face downwards when the cap is installed on the machine. Should I take the gasket back out and reposition it so they engage with the holes? Will this fix my steam-leakage problem? Right now I am still able to make good lattes and cappuccinos, but I am afraid if I don't address this seal problem I may begin to lose a lot of pressure.

okay so I'm sorta new at making espresso (I've been doing it a while but I'm still learning) A while back I finally upgraded from a steam powered to a pump powered machine (boy is it nice to taste unburnt espresso) and I've been getting a lot better at pulling my shots but today while looking around on the internet I realized my machine uses a pressurized portafilter. What are the cons? I read that the crema you get from it is fake (which doesn't make sense) and I've also read many opinions about the technique of using a portafilter of this type. Some say don't tamp, some say tamp lightly and some have said tamp like you would a regular portafilter. It makes me mad because I've spent hours and hours trying to get the perfect shot and perfect crema by playing around with my grind and how hard I tamp but now I don't know if all that time was wasted or not because of using a pressurized portafilter.
