As a college student, its tough to get a full nights sleep. Sometimes I'll find myself nodding off when I should be alert. I don't like coffee and I have had the occasional energy drink, but I don't like them that much and hate the crash afterwards. I want to know: What are some other, healthier options to get energy on a not-so-full nights sleep?

I've had no sleep at all, and I have to work today. Coffee is the only thing that will help, well, will it harm me? I don't usually drink coffee. When I do, I rarely have sugar, but I don't want to be falling asleep in work!

My mom says if she drinks a coffee after lunchtime, she won't be able to sleep at night.
Yesterday I accidentally had a bit more than 3 cups of coffee's worth of caffeine (long story). That was around 9:30 pm. When I went to bed at 3 am, I fell asleep pretty fast... so does the caffeine just not affect me or is my mom too sensitive to it?

Many people drink soda or coffee for that extra kick during the day to help them stay awake.
Since caffeine takes awhile to start working after consuming it, what kind of sleep would one get if they fell asleep after drinking a cup of coffee? Do the effect's of caffeine change the quality of sleep you get?

I usually drink coffee in the morning with my breakfast, but since it's finals time, I drink cupS of coffee at 8pm.....
So I'm just wondering, if I usually go to bed around 1am, when is the latest I should drink coffee, without it affecting my sleep?
THANKS!!

So I got into a habit of drinking some caffeine free ginger ale or pepsi with my meds I take at bedtime. It seems I have a hard time falling asleep and do not get a good nights sleep. I know there is sugar in soda, but when I was younger I used to drink Mountain Dew at night, during the night and it was fine; My Dr told me not to have caffeine after 2 put these sodas are caffeine free?? What gives????

How long before bed time should I stop drinking caffeine so it doesn't bother my sleep?

To begin with, I don't drink coffee or tea regularly. I drink tea like once a week, and coffee like once every few months. However, I can drink two cups of coffee at one go and still fall asleep immediately and have a good night sleep. Does anyone have the same problem? Does anyone know why?
Also, I desperately need to stay awake to finish up my work so I'll appreciate any suggestions to help me stay awake. Anything except more coffee/caffeine, since I know it doesn't help.
Thanks.
