How can I get rid of my addiction to caffeine?

I am trying to cut caffeine out of my diet, but I can't seem to get through a day without it. If I don't have a cup of coffee or can of soda, I get a TERRIBLE headache, and sometimes I have to have 2 or 3 cups to get rid of it. Any tip/advice?

Because of the new pills I'm taking I've been really tired so I'd drink coffee or pop every morning well one day I skipped a day of caffeine and the next day....I had a migrane whoa it hurt. I took some painkillers but the dull pain was still there. The headache went away when I drank pop. How do I get myself not so addicted or to a point where I don't get headaches if I do skip a day?

Can taking in caffeine cause major headaches?

I used to drink a lot of soda and i would have continuous headaches. So I quit drinking soda and just started drinking and eating healthy. I tried to find out if caffeine is what causes my headaches by drinking caffeinated sodas and i always end up with a headache. Is this caused by the caffeine or the sugar or what?

How can I minimize caffeine withdraw symptoms?

Three days ago I switched to decaf coffee and tea. This is in response to my realization that I had developed an addiction and the caffeine is overstimulating my pituitary which is presenting in various symptoms. I started with a headache two days ago that will not go away. I'm also feeling generally lethargic and having withdrawal symptoms.

Any suggestions for minimizing these symptoms? How long will this last?

FYI... I am not a soda drinker. I drink lots of water and I eat a whole foods diet. I also excercise daily.

I've noticed that Caffeine is used in most headache medicines. Is this any way to help headaches that are caused by many peoples addiction to caffeine when they don't consume it as the normally do?

How long do caffeine headaches usually last?

I drunk a frozen coffee a couple hours ago...and had an immediate headache. I layed down and after an hour it was over. The thing is I just drunk a half a cup of it. I should also mention I have been laying off of caffeine for about 6 months now? Just wondering if this is normal and what everyone else's experiences are with this.

Caffeine……?

Ok so yesterday I went to starbucks, and after I had a mocha...I started feeling very weird. I have felt this before, when I would drink a lot of coffee....kinda like nausea and a little headache, but it wouldnt last too long. Could the caffeine from yesterday cause that?

My doctor has told me I need to elimanate caffeine completely. I cannot handle headaches at all. I have had migraines my entire life so I really can't deal with any type of headache. I drink coffee on days I work plus alot of Coke Zero. In the past I have been able to stop drinking diet cokes and I don't have coffee on weekends. But quiting cold turkey is killing me. It's not the waking up part I need help with. I have been prescribed Provigil which I am not using because I can't stop the caffeine. I know I have to do it slowly, but how? On weekdays I have about 2 cups of strong coffee then start diet coke as soon as I get to work. I have between 4-7 12 oz. cans a day. So how long should I expect it to take to quit completely?

I use to drink several pots of coffee daily, now I am down to a 12oz cup in the morning and a 12 oz in the afternoon. The problem I have is my job require me to get up very early sometime as early a 2:30 am. On my days off I want to sleep in but wake up between 4-5 am with a splitting headache that lasts all day. I am tired of fighting headaches on my days off and want to kick the caffeine habit altogether but the headaches are preventing me from stopping cold turkey.
Does anyone have any suggestion or have faced the same thing in the past?

I have a really bad pepsi addiction. Well, more it's that I am afraid of getting a caffeine headache. The trouble is is that I also have migraines. I've tried to stop soda before, however I got caffeine headaches that most of the time turned to a full blown migraine. Which puts me out of commission. I have two toddlers, so I don't have time to be out with a migraine. Any suggestions other than caffeine pills? The caffeine pills don't seem to work and are awfully expensive when trying to compensate with them.
