I have been considering getting a job as a barista at Starbucks, hopefully with full time hours.
Does anyone here know how much Starbucks in WISCONSIN pay an hour and average tips earned in a week? I understand it depends, but I just want to know from anyone in my area that works there or knows of someone who does.
Thanks!
Ok, I live between Milwaukee and Madison if that helps.

I'm pretty good with my tamping and timing, but since retiring from being a barista at a small coffeehouse, I miss the espresso. After looking around I have been fairly disappointed with the junk espresso machines that are being pushed right now.
What I'm looking for is an espresso maker that does not auto-tamp, has a hot waterspout, a steam wand, manual steam control (for the group head), and a hefty portafilter.
Where can I find such one that is not junk?

My mom just gave me an old Salton "Three For All" espresso machine, and I don't know how to use the steamer! I don't even know how that side of the machine works at all (... and I used to be a barista at Starbucks). Can somebody help?

Why aren't there recycle bins at Starbucks for paper products like coffee cups and napkins? Their website says that it is up to the individual starbucks landlords to make decisions on recycling. I live in a community where recycling is abundant so I am shocked that it is not available in any of the shops. When asking the barista she said that the materials they use for coffee cups, sleeves, napkins, etc. are already recycled so they can't be recycled again. I've never heard of this. Is it true you cannot recycle products made from recycled products?

I am considering buying an espresso machine for my dorm room next year, yes my dorm room. My college's coffee shop is disgusting. They use pre-ground Folgers for the espresso, among many other things. I've been a barista for two years and know the difference between a really good latte and one that tastes like mud, so quality is important to me.
What is a good, relatively inexpensive (less than 0) espresso machine with a steaming wand that I could buy?

I'm having an espresso bar at my wedding and want to rent an espresso machine just for a day or two. The only place I could find wanted to send a barista with it, which of course would cost more. I already have a barista lined up to do it, but can't find a place to get the espresso machine from. Thanks!
