What size cup would you order from Starbucks for a quad shot?
Do people ask for Splenda from the barista or just add it themselves?
Do people add other flavorings/use different types of milk?

I'm currently working as a barista in a big corporate building. I don't mind working there, but I have a problem with one of the security guards. On my first day of work, he comes by looks me up and down and says "mmmm mm mm m m look what we have here another new beautiful THING (WTF?!) mmm this makes my day." (This especially creeps me out because although I'm 21, I'm always mistaken for being 14-16 years old and this man looks older than my father) The next day, he comes by while staring at me and my coworker and says "good mornin' don't mind me, mm I love me some beautiful women."
Every day for several months now, he comes by at 10:30am and creeps up behind us when we are sweeping and says good morning while staring at our a**es. He also comes by three to four times in the afternoon. My coworker and the girl who works at the convenience store next door tell me that until they smile and say good morning, he will either stay by the doors and stare at them or pace back and forth in front of the doors while staring at them until they respond (note: this is a huge building with plenty of other places to watch over as well and none of the other guards on other shifts come by this part of the building this often). One day I hid behind the espresso machine and watched him stand and stare at the girl next door for literally fifteen minutes until I heard her say good morning. He has also told them repeatedly "do you know why I'm staring at you... it's because you're beautiful." I don't respond when he comes by and have done my best to glare when I see him come by, so he doesn't stick around as much, but every day he still comes UGH.
I couldn't ignore it any more so I told my boss and she tells me that she's creeped out too! She's around 56, but he does the same thing to her and has even told her on different occasions: "I love asian women" "asian women are beautiful." (I'm asian and so are the other workers). This behavior has apparently been going on for quite some time and her past employees have informed her of their discomfort as well. I told her that I was going to tell him that his conduct was entirely inappropriate for a security guard and could be considered harassment, but she told me that my words were too harsh ugh! Then she orders me not to say anything to him or to the office and to let her husband handle matters, but of course the creeper never comes by when he's there. I then asked her husband if he could speak to his supervisor but he says "so what, it's just a compliment, sometimes in life you have to ignore things, if I go and complain then he'll complain about us being racist, it'll give the coffee shop a bad image in the building so don't you dare go and complain yourself"
Sorry for the long message, it was therapeutic to type out my frustration. Please give me some advice about dealing with this creeper. I might be too sensitive, but I hate dealing with creepy men/cat calling/harassment when I'm walking places and have experienced other much more serious and traumatic forms of harassment in the past, so it really upsets me to experience this, however harmless, at work. It was really tough trying to get a part-time job that fit my schedule as a student without work study and I need this money so I can't quit now :*( le sigh

I want to know what the starting wage is at a Starbucks roasting plant. Do they pay higher than a barista at local starabucks or would they pay lower?

So in short, I used to work at blenz coffee and I got fired because the manager was a bitch. Anyways i was real good at making the drinks and I found this job as a barista that strongly reccommends having experience as a barista. Now I obviously cant put blenz on my resume but i was thinking in my skills I could maybe put down that i know how to use the espresso machine and make basic drinks. Or maybe something along that?? Any thoughts o and please serious answers only

I just moved to a new city and want to start a new me. So instead of working in the office I figured I'd challenge myself to work in the food industry. I accepted a job as a cupcake associate thinking I would be selling cupcakes, ringing people up, making basic coffee. Looks like this is way more challenging then I thought. Since I have never worked in the food industry, I am unfamiliar with all the laws involving the industry and cleanliness, food handling, etc. I need to know what's inside and out of the cupcakes, I need to know all like 5+ machines that make drinks. It looks like I'll be being a barista without them calling it that. There is what I consider a pretty big drink list I will need to know what goes in it, how much, and how to handle what. Espressos apparently must be served after 15 seconds, and milk can be served after two hours or something like that. It was orientation today and I burned milk, since it was just orientation, they were really cool about it and it was just an example, not something we were planning on giving to a customer. However, I'm so used to going into a job I feel like I know something about. It usually involves computers or simple tasks. I'm 22. I recently left an office manager job where I basically ran the office, open and close, most of the paperwork, sometimes pretty fast paced but all the fast paced things came naturally to me and/or were so simple to learn, not like making these drinks. I dont want to dismiss myself or this job so easily and say "I can't do it" but I do want to know myself and my limits. I'm debating about leaving this job to become a hostess, get to know the food industry that way, and then work my way up to possibly bartend. I figure if I stayed with a barista, that would help me bartend, but maybe I should take it slow. Also baristas get paid so little for so much, whereas hostessing would be paid the same amount and be so much less stressful! Also the drinks and machines are not self explanatory. The machines are labeled incorrectly so we just have to get to know them and what they actually do as opposed to what it's labeled. I can try to memorize all the shots of this and that, but when it comes to using the machines I wonder if I'm up to par with everyone else enough for them to keep me!

I know it is a barista, but I do not know what it is called on the website. I went in to Starbucks today and asked for a job application and the lady said they are on the website. I cannot find the job title called barista so is there another name for it?
