I've been told diaretics like caffeine or alcohol cause you to urinate away calories before you can burn them. Say for example you drink an energy drink with 100 calories--does your body take in and proccess all 100 or do you pass some amount of it instead? Basically I'm wondering if when you drink something like an energy drink, are you really taking in as many calories as listed on the can?

Everyone knows it expands your blood vessels and you absorb alcohol quicker, but how much more? 20%? 30%? sometime of reference backing up your answer would be nice! also for this "equation" i guess you could call it. 400mg of caffeine (roughly 2 cups of coffee) and 250 ML of 100 proof liquor, difference of absorption with and without caffeine?

What amount of caffeine or alcohol (liters, ml, whatever) will definatly cause a miscarriage? and preferably without overdosing.
Don't worry i'm not pregnant nor do i know anyone trying to miscarriage, i'm writing a report for my applied health class and that information would be good to put in.
Thanks a bunch!
